Another year of bounty shared by City of Pasadena leaders, businesses & volunteers!
The City of Pasadena, Ralphs Grocery Company and Food 4 Less hosted their 15th Annual Operation Gobble Gobble the weekend before Thanksgiving, just outside Pasadena City Hall.
The event is spearheaded by Kayleen Maya-Aviles, the District Director for Assemblymember Chris Holden, along with Pasadena Mayor Tornek, Rhonda Stone (Mayor's City Council District Liaison), City staff, the Pasadena Fire Department and community volunteers. This incredible group of generous donors distributed 450 Thanksgiving turkeys and all the trimmings to local human service agencies. Options for Learning was a proud recipient and we were able to serve 20 local families this year.
Options for Learning staff made personal home deliveries to Head Start families and our Child Care Services and Full-day Preschool offered convenient pick-ups at school and office sites in Pasadena. The families were overjoyed to receive such bounty from the City of Pasadena. For so many of our families, a Thanksgiving dinner would not have been possible without this assistance.
This season, we thank the Pasadena leaders, businesses and volunteers for the graciousness shown to the families in our program. Options for Learning relies on community partnerships to grow healthy, responsible and caring children. Thank you!
