Curriculum

The curriculum for the Surround Care program incorporates several essential areas to ensure the quality of the program. Character development is a component of the program. The curriculum strives to meet state school standards through the planning and implementation of indoor and outdoor activities.In addition, the program offers homework assistance and summer field trips.
 
The Curriculum supports STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) and Common Core through activities and material offered by the program. The Surround Care program addresses a multitude of developmental areas such as:

The program prides itself on providing quality services that enrich the lives of the children it serves. The program focuses on assisting each child to develop into their full potential. In addition, the curriculum places an emphasis n character development as a means to foster the six pillars of ethical attributes: respect, responsibility, fairness, trustworthiness, caring, and citizenship.   

Surround Care staff members are committed to providing a quality program in a safe, well-supervised environment. Surround Care teachers have completed college coursework and have had a wide variety of teaching experiences. Staff facilitate active learning by providing challenging and enjoyable activities that promote the development of each child. Most sites also have one or more trained assistant teachers who possess an educational background in child development or experience working with children. Our teaching teams provide a comprehensive, curriculum rich program for the children in their care.
