Operation Gobble Gobble
On November 23rd the City of Pasadena hosted their 16th Annual Operation Gobble Gobble Thanksgiving food distribution event.
The event was spearheaded by Rhonda Stone of Mayor Tornek’s Office and supported by City staff, the Pasadena Fire Department, student ambassadors and many community volunteers.
Through generous donations from Ralphs and Food 4 Less, volunteers were able to assemble, load and distribute 500 Thanksgiving turkeys with all the trimmings to help clients of local human service organizations. Options for Learning was once again a proud recipient this year, providing meals to 25 families.
Our staff made personal home deliveries to Head Start families and our Child Care Services and Full-day Preschool offered convenient pick-ups at several of our Pasadena sites. The families were overjoyed to receive such bounty from the generosity of Ralphs & Food 4 Less. For so many of our families, a Thanksgiving dinner would not have been possible without this assistance.
This season, we thank Pasadena leaders and businesses for the graciousness shown to our families. Options for Learning relies on community partnerships to ensure the healthy growth and development of the children in our care, so we are truly grateful to be a part of this annual event - thank you!
