Today marks one year since the Eaton Fire forever changed our community. On this anniversary, we pause to honor the families, children, child care providers, and community partners who were impacted — and to recognize the strength, resilience, and compassion that have carried our community forward.
In the days and months following the fire, families faced sudden loss, uncertainty, and disruption. What followed, however, was also a powerful reminder of community: neighbors helping neighbors, providers stepping up for families, and a collective commitment to healing and recovery.
As the designated Resource and Referral (R&R) agency for this area, Options for Learning remains deeply committed to supporting families impacted by the Eaton Fire — not just in moments of crisis, but throughout the long journey of recovery. We continue to offer free resources and referrals to help families navigate child care options, basic needs, and supportive services.
In recognition that healing continues long after headlines fade, we are also offering a free, six-week support group for parents and caregivers beginning next week in partnership with Young & Healthy. These sessions are designed to provide safe, supportive spaces for adults to process experiences, connect with others, and move forward together.

On this anniversary, we hold space for reflection, remembrance, and hope. We honor all those affected and reaffirm our commitment to walking alongside our community with care, compassion, and connection.
